The bagru fabric is immersed in harda solution which is extracted from a plant typically found in these parts of Rajasthan. Fabric is then dried in the blistering heat to provide a stiff platform for printing.Dyes used are sourced from vegetable matter. For example, for yellow hues turmeric is used while for red or maroon shades, pomegranate is used.
